Happy System Admin Day!

Celebrated annually on the last Friday in July, take the time to let your IT specialist(s) know you appreciate their work on SysAdmin Day!

Why Celebrate SysAdmin Day?

System Administrator Day, also known as Sysadmin Day, SysAdminDay or Sysmas, is a day to recognize the hard work of the IT professionals who keep our organizations networks up and running.

Technology is an intricate part of our everyday lives and is vital in keeping our businesses, municipalities, nonprofits and other organizations operational. In organizations both big and small, your system administrators and IT professionals are the ones who handle system updates, troubleshooting, and network security.

Not only do they keep your hardware and software running, in the fast-paced world of tech development there is always something new on the horizon, so they also have to keep up-to-date on the latest technology trends and  standards. In addition, if anything goes wrong, they are the ones who work the long odd hours to get systems back in order and ready for the next work day.

The world of IT (Information Technology) is often viewed as a mysterious one to those of us without any technical training. As long as our devices are working, we don’t often think about what it takes to keep our systems up and running.

When technology runs smoothly, we take it for granted. When something stops working, your IT personnel often bear the brunt of the blame and receive the most complaints, even though they are the ones who ultimately fix the issue. Today on SysAdmin Day, take the time to let your IT specialist(s) know you appreciate their work! They certainly don’t hear it enough!
